Acer announced Acer Iconia Tab A200 tablet on Friday, which is a device the company is shipping in December, with Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS locked inside. From January 2012, the A200 will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. As the latest in Acer’s tablet family, we wanted to see how it stood up to some other competing Android tablets, starting with the recently launched Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet, which is also heading to launch in December. Asus Transformer Prime is the world’s first quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor powered tablet and it will also be upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. We should say that Acer Iconia Tab A200 is the low-end spec’d device, while the Asus Transformer Prime is the highly touted powerful tablet.
