Display, Size & Weight

Users of both the Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1/8.2 and Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 will gets a sharp, responsive widescreen tablet experience. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1′s screen uses PLS TFT touchscreen technology for better viewing angles and increased brightness with a maximum resolution of 1280 X 800 on its 10.1-inch screen, while the  Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 also has the same resolution on its 10.1-inch HD-IPS LCD screen and Droid Xyboard 8.2 also delivers 1280 X 800 pixels of resolution.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is Samsung’s first follow-up to its 7-inch Galaxy Tab and has dimensions of 256.7 x 175.3 x 8.6 mm while the Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 is 241.2 x 185.7 x 8.8 mm (599 grams), and the Motorola Dorid Xyboard 8.2 is 139 x 216 x 9 mm (390 grams). So Galaxy Tab 10.1 is quite slim in our opinion and 565 grams, which should be easy to carry and has a portable design.

OS

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS with TouchWiX 4.0 user interface on top of it. Like the Samsung’s operating system, the Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1/8/2 pair also runs on Google’s Android OS version 3.2 Honeycomb. Good thing is that the manufacturers of these tablets have already confirmed that Galaxy Tab 10.1 Droid Xyboards will be upgrading to Android 1.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich OS in early 2012.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a 1 GHz Dual-core NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor with with ULP GeForce GPU, 1GB of DDR2 RAM while the Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1/8.1 pair also has a similar Dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 ARM Cortex-A9 processor, but clocking at 1.4GHz frequency with 1GB of DDR2 RAM.

Unfortunately. there is no sign of the brand new Nvidia Tega 3 quad-core processor on the new Droid Xyboard tablets from Motorola, while the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime has got the fastest quad-core chipset under its hood.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a 3-megapixel rear camera on its rear, which can record 720p HD videos, and a 2-megapixel front camera for forwarding video chats.

Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1/8.2 pair has got a 5 megapixel rear camera on rear side that also doubles as a 720p HD video recorder, and a 1.3 megapixel front shooter to make video calls.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 offers a choice of 32GB and 64GB internal memory. Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1, on the other hand, also offers the choices of 32GB and 64GB, including 16GB. But, you won’t be seeing the 64GB variant of the Motorola Droid Xyboard 8.2 as it is having 16GB and 32GB models only. Unlike the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Dorid Xyboard 10.1/8.2 supports microSD and microSDHC, making them powerful tablets in terms of memory storage. However, you can expand the memory storage on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the help of an exclusive USB adapter, which should be purchased separately form Samsung.

Both the Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1/8.2 pair and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 have got 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jacks, Adobe Flash support. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 available in Wi-Fi, HSPA+ versions and a version will also work on 4G LTE Verizon network in the U.S. Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 and Droid Xyboard 10.1 tablets are also having Verizon’s 4G LTE capability under the hood. Galaxy Tab 10.1 isn’t having a micro-USB port. You need to buy the proprietary connector cable, which charges the Galaxy Tab 10.1 much faster than a standard micro-USB port could.

Other Features

Both the Motorola Dorid Xyboard 10.1 and Droid Xyborad 8.2 tablets are having micro HDMI ports, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 users have to utilize an optional HDTV adapter that includes a HDMI-out connection.
