It looks like LG is having an handful of handsets to be officially announced at this month’s Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. The manufacturer has already unveiled the LG Optimus Vu and LG Optimus LTE Tag handsets. Since a few hours ago, LG has been teasing on its official Facebook page by hinting at something with a statement saying that “Tomorrow, we’LL teLL you what aLL the L has been about!” LG just took the wraps-off its new Optimus series.
The manufacturer unveiled the new L-Style series of Android handsets. A press release has revealed a duo of Ice Cream Sandwich-filling and a Gingerbread powered handsets a full week before Mobile World Congress kicks off. The new L-Style series will cover the L3. L5 and L7 –ranging from low to high-end handsets.
LG Optimus L7
The LG Optimus L7 handset will be shipped with the latest and greatest version of the Android OS – v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich build and sporting a bigger 4.3-inch display with Cinematic Wide Viewing capability. Camera, processor, RAM, memory storage and other specification details haven’t been revealed out by the manufacturer. It is expected to be powered by a dual-core processor under the hood.
LG Optimus L5
The LG Optimus L5 should be a mid-range spec’d handset, coming with a 4.o-inch touchscreen display with “Enhanced Readability” feature and it will be running Android 4.0 ICs Cream Sandwich OS on the board.
LG Optimus L3
LG Optimus L3 is the only handset that doesn’t come with Android 4.0 ICS OS form the L-Style series. It will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, sporting a 3.2-inch display, which is expected to boast a resolution of 240 X 320 pixels.
We guess that all the LG Optimus L3, L5 and L7 handsets built with metallic edges and slim body. You can also observe that all the L3, L5 and L7 handsets are sporting a single rectangular-shaped physical button at the bottom side. Both the LG Optimus L5 and Optimus L7 handsets are expected to hit the European markets in the first half of the year, while the low-end LG Optimus L3 handsets is set to hit the shelves in Europe in March. LG will reveal full specifications, global availability and the price tag info of these handsets at the upcoming MWC 2012 event this month in Barcelona. All we can do is wait.
