LG’s next flagship handset, the LG X3 is gearing up to be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress event next week, which we’ve been reporting about, reportedly got its retail name. According to PocketNow, the company’s first quad-core processor equipped handset will hit the streets as LG Optimus 4X HD. The retail name is also highlighting the quad-core processor of the handset. According to recently leaked-benchmark reports, the LG X3 aka Optimus 4X HD handset will be overshadowing all the high-end spec’d handsets.

The source is also reporting that following the footsteps of the T-Mobile G2X, the LG Optimus 4X HD handset will be called T-Mobile G4X, when it hits shelves. LG Optimus 4X HD aka G4X is one of the world’s first smartphone to use Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, sporting a 4.7-inch 720p display with 1280 X 720p resolution, 9mm thick profile, an 8MP rear-facing camera, 21 Mbps HSPA connectivity, 16GB internal memory.

MWC 2012 event is right around the corner. Just a little bit longer, folks.
