The wait is over. UK citizens now can pre-order the latest Android smartphone Nexus S, manufactured by Samsung, which is the world’s first device to run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Nexus S is scheduled to release in UK on(or after) 21st December. UK’s retailer Carphone Warehouse is now offering pre-orders on the SIM-free Nexus S handset at for £549.95 ($870), which sounds so expensive and of course you can get it for Free on 2-year contract with £35 per month.
Nexus S will be available on all network carriers O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange in UK with different tariff plans.
Coming to specs, Nexus S having a unique curved shape for comfort when used for the call and it sports 4-inch Super AMOLED Contour Display, 5 Megapixels rear & VGA front facing cameras, 1 GHz Hummingbird processor & graphics capability is strengthened by the PowerVR SGX 540 , 512 MB of RAM, micro USB, Wi-Fi, VoIP/SIP, triband HSPA connectivity and a 16GB of internal memory storage.
However it is lacking micro SD slot support for memory expansion and HD video shooting capability, but still it is a great smartphone with fastest version of Android Gingerbread and it is having NFC support, which can be used for financial transactions via short-range wireless connection.
