It looks like Sony has a new Xperia tablet in the works and is scheduled to reach the market in Q4 2012, according to slides that were leaked online yesterday. These leaked slides have confirmed Sony’s intentions that it is unifying its smartphones and tablets under the “Xperia” brand. This is a 9.4” aluminium tablet, which packs some impressive specs and a solid hardware under the hood. Xperia tablet could be the successor of the yesteryear’s Tablet S, featuring the same “folded magazine” form factor, but it will be 42% thinner than Tablet S at 8.8mm in the wedge section.

Sony’s Playstation certified Xperia tablet comes with the following features:

# Android 4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich or it may ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
# Nvidia 4-PLUS-1-Tegra 3 quad-core processor
# 1GB RAM
# 8MP rear-facing snapper, front-facing 1MP camera
# 32GB, 64GB, 16GB storage options
# 6000mAh battery
# DLNA support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0

Sony Xperia tablet will have a set of accessories such as Microsoft Surface-like keyboard cover (for $99), a charging cradle, dock ($99), speaker ($119), a stand ($25) and a carrying case. One of the highlights of this tablet is that it comes with multi-user support with the help of “guest mode,” which lets each member of the family to share one tablet.

According to the leaked slides, the Xperia tablet is expected to hit the stores in September and will be priced at $449 for the 16GB model, $549 for the 32GB model and $649 for the 64 gigabytes edition.
