LG’s Next Smartphone will be Blazing Fast, Thin, and Bright; Features S4 Pro APQ8064 SoC, 800-Cycle Life

Yesterday, LG teased its upcoming Qualcomm Quad-Core S4 Pro monster phone, which will be paired with an Adreno 320 GPU to give all the current super phones a run. We also heard about the rumored LG Optimus G and its killer specs and later we came across its first set of leaked images in the wild. Today, the manufacturer has detailed some more details about its upcoming phone. We are completely unaware whether it’s next flagship phone will be called the LG Optimus G or something else.

The manufacturer is bringing its LG Chem, LG Display and LG Innotek division to build this monster phone. According to LG, the upcoming device will sport True HD IPS+ brighter display with high pixel density of 320ppi, 1280×720 pixels of resolution and new Stripe RGB IPS Panel technology, as well as 470 nits in brightness. Therefore it is being teased as “clearer than AMOLED displays.” It’s Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor lets the device to run faster, offering longer battery life.

LG’s new G2 Touch Hybrid Display will make the device thinner as it “eliminates the gap between the glass and the LCD panel.” It also consumes 70 percent less power compared when displaying a white background and utilizing LG Chem’s high-density technology, its new battery will deliver more power and it will last for an 800-cycle-life. Other rumored specs of the device are 2GB RAM, 13MP camera and 4G LTE capability.

  1. Only 470 nits? The now-old LG Optimus 4x HD has 550, which – too – is a bit on the low side compared to, for example, my own ancient Nokia (still remember them?) E6.
