There has been a lot of talk over the past few weeks about Huawei latest Huawei’s offerings – 5-inch Ascend D2 1080p phone, and 6.1-inch Ascend Mate 720p phablet. We’ve been hearing the upcoming 5-inch Huawei Ascend P2 with 13MP shooter, which is set for MWC launch next month. The Chinese manufacturer is also planning to launch a low-end Android phone for an affordable attractive package in the coming days.
The new Huawei G520 (or Ascend G520) will be available for for sale in China from January 21, priced at just $225. (1,399 yuan) For that money, you are getting a phone with 4.5-inch IPS touchscreen with unspecified resolution, a Mediatek MT6589 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a five-megapixel main camera, and 512MB of RAM. The handset’s RAM department has got less capacity, but considering the handset’s cheaper price, you can still count on this phone.
The source hasn’t mentioned the version of the Android OS. Based on the carrier logo on the front side of the handset, we can say that China Mobile will be carrying this phone across the country. There’s no word on other regions availability of this handset.
The Ascend D2 will first launch in China this month, and Japan after that. The largest-screened Ascen Mate will go up for sale in China in February, and similarly expand to availability in additional markets. For now, there’s been no word on Mate coming to the United States.
