Along with the Nokia Lumia 920 flagship’s announcement, the Finnish mobile maker has also made the Nokia Lumia 820 official, during the press conference, teaming up with Microsoft in New York. It should provide same solid smartphone experience as the Nokia Lumia 920, although it is carrying mid-range specifications.
Specs wise, the Nokia Lumia 820 will ship with Windows Phone 8 OS, and it has got a 4.3-inch AMOLED display (Its resolution is WVGA 480 by 800 pixels) with ClearBlack technology. Unfortunately, Nokia hasn’t included PureMotion HD+ technology for this phone, but you can use it with gloves on your hands as it has also got Super Sensitive touch technology. Like the Nokia Lumia 920, this phone also made from polycarbonate, and the same the same Qualcomm S4 chipset with 1.5Ghz dual-core Krait processor will run it. Under the hood, there is a full gigabyte of RAM, 8GB onboad storage. Fortunately, Nokia takes full advantage of Windows Phone 8’s microSD card slot support, giving you the option of memory expansion up to 32GB. This is the highlighting feature, missing in the Lumia 920, which has got 32Gb built-in memory.
Nokia says that the Lumia 820’s S4 Krait dual-core processor is up to 30% more power-efficient than “competing quad-core designs.” The handset comes with a front-facing VGA camera, paired with up an 8-megapixel camera (with no PureView Phase 2) with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash to record 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second and it will take advantage of the new camera features of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform.
