HTC Teases For Sept.19th Event With A Corner Shot; HTC Accord/8X Caught In The Wild

HTC Teases For Sept.19th Event

Today, HTC will be having an event to unveil mysterious devices that will be powered by either Android OS or Windows Phone 8 OS. Excited about its September 19th event, HTC has started teasing for today’s event the picture of a corner of one of HTC’s new phones with the clock ticking down and reads 10:08am. HTC always uses this 10:08 time on all official HTC smartphone/tablet materials. We do believe it is a Windows Phone 8 / Windows 8 device, teasing in the above image. If you remember, that clock looks a lot like the one from Windows Phones.

HTC is also expected to announce the long-rumored 5-inch phablet device at the event. Earlier, we are presented with a purported press shot of the HTC One X 5 (also known as HTC DiX or DROID Incredible X) with red accents and it may feature 1080p screen with a pixel density of 440 PPI, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 pro processor, 1.5GB RAM, Beats Audio, 16GB onboard storage.

Various rumors are suggesting that HTC will have at least three Windows Phone 8 handsets on the menu. Initial rumors of the purple colored HTC Accord/HTC 8X popped up before with official press render. A few hours ago, a new image sent to PhoneArena, showing a HTC Accord that’s fairly similar to the handset appeared in first render to feature the handset.

PhoenArena claims to have gotten it from an anonymous tipster. This tipster claims the purple coloring HTC Accord is heading to Verizon, which can connect to carrier’s 4G LTE network and it will ship with Windows Phone 8 OS, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor under the hood. We’re also told to expect 720p display, 16GB of storage, and no microSD slot for expandable memory. It is also being heard that it has got 1.3MP front facing camera for making video calls, as well as an 8MP rear-facing camera, which is very fast and capable of taking “phenomenal photos.”

HTC’s press conference taking place in New York City and begins at 11:00 a.m. EDT, 8:00 a.m. PDT. We’re expecting to see upcoming Windows Phone 8 line-up from HTC. What do you think? Android phones or Windows Phone 8 phones? ”When beautiful hardware meets stunning software,” is the only hint.
