The Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 update for Samsung Galaxy S III has just started rolling starting from Poland. It was earlier reported that the update will be available October, but its good that it has started rolling out earlier than expected.
Currently, the update is being pushed out through Samsung’s KIES software, rather than over the air (OTA) but the update is available in the OTA servers and will be soon available.
The new OS will bring about faster performances brought by Project Butter. Other changes include:
# Reorganized settings menu
# 2 Homescreen modes
# New Notifications bar
# Google Now
# Resizable Pop-up play screen
Users are/will be happy to hear that the long-awaited update gettingĀ started. Android Jelly Bean features like Google Now, Project Butter performance enhancements and the redesigned notification shade, in addition to new TouchWiz features are expected to bring a huge change in the Galaxy S III experience.
Unlocked S3 Owners are luckier as they are expected to get the update sooner than carrier-branded versions, such as the U.S. Galaxy S3 models. That is because there will be a network test and other test to be run before the update and hence may have to wait a little longer
