We’re already aware that Google are reportedly working on the new Nexus phone, which is being remored to manufacture by Samsung. Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone, which went on sale in last year is set to be replaces by a new Galaxy Nexus sequel, codenamed “Premiere” in the coming months.

We have rumors of a Galaxy Nexus 2 in late August. A set of snapshots are now doing the rounds online, claiming to represent the new Nexus smartphone, currently known as the Nexus 2 I9260. The EXIF info in the photos noted the device as “GT-I9260.” The leaked camera samples haven’t provided any new information and they were pictured at low resolution, not at full resolution. The leaked samples appeared on Picasa have revealed that the handset has got F/2.65 aperture and a 4mm focal length. This evidence must be strong enough to prove that the new Nexus handset is expected to ship with the same camera as the Galaxy S III. If you remember, Sammy’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S III’s camera has got an aperture of F/2.6 and a focal length of 3.6mm and Galaxy S II sports F/2.65 aperture and 3.97mm focal length.

The leaked samples show that the new Nexus phone is operating under two different build numbers I9260XXAL15 and I9260XXAL16.

The spec sheet rumored to reveal the Galaxy Nexus 2 I9260 handset is said to include a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD screen, a Cortex A9 dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, an upgraded 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of on-board storage, as well as a microSD card slot for memory expansion support. The last two Nexus phones haven’t got space for microSD card slot.
