Nokia Lumia 920

Last month, Nokia unveiled its upcoming two mobile phones including Nokia Lumia 920, running on Windows Phone 8 operating system at a Press event in New York City, without giving a release date or saying what carriers would offer it. In an unconfirmed report, the second largest US wireless carrier, AT&T and Nokia plan to unveil Nokia Lumia 920 in New York today.

In the last event of unveiling the Nokia Lumia 920, the mobile manufacturer didn’t mention about its carrier. At the event, Nokia showed off the next-generation Lumia, available in a number of colors, as well as some accessories, including a wireless chargers and speakers. Nokia Lumia 920 offers Nokia PureView, cutting-edge technology that makes it possible for smartphone cameras to take the kinds of images usually seen only on a standalone SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera. The Lumia 920 has a brightly colored polycarbonate body and a spring mounted, 8.7-megapixel camera. It features software called City Lens that displays the names of restaurants and shops when users point their camera at them. This software also shows customers nearby attractions.

AT&T is planning to host a showcase of this new device today in New York. The phone won’t be immediately available for sale after the unveiling, said the sources, who asked not to be identified because details of the event aren’t public. From similar sources, it was also revealed last August that Verizon Wireless plans to start selling a Nokia Windows Phone 8 model later this year.

It is not confirmed that whether or not AT&T will announce availability and pricing for the device today.
