LG’s Nexus Phone Coming in Mid-November with wireless charging, Android 4.2?

LG Optimus G

Over the past few days, we heard about a wide range of rumors regarding the availability of a new Nexus smartphone featuring the South Korean mobile phone manufacturer LG and now some more information on the matter has been brought out again.

A news forum, MoDaCo claimed yesterday that the device is based on the newly unveiled LG Optimus G and it was said to be coming in the middle of November with some extra features. It would run on newest Android 4.2. The smartphone features with a 1280×768 True-HD IPS screen on the front, a Quad-Core Snapdragon S4 processor and 2GB of RAM.

An 8-megapixel photo snapper will be included on the back of this smartphone, with support for full HD video recording, as well as with other high-end enhancements.

However, it seems that the LG’s Nexus smartphone will not pack a microSD memory card slot when released. So users will have to adjust on the 8GB / 16GB internal memory that the handset vendor will include inside it.

These are the specs reported by MoDaCo:
# The device is based on the Optimus G but doesn’t look the same
# Updated Android release (currently 4.2)
# Quad Core Snapdragon S4 processor
# 2GB RAM
# 1280×768 True-HD IPS screen
# On screen soft keys (of course)
# 8 Megapixel Camera
# No microSD slot
# 8GB and 16GB versions only (at least initially)
# Non-removable battery
# Wireless charging built in

  • The retail name of the device is yet to be decided. There will be a non-removable battery, along with wireless charging out of the box, a striking feature that will make a big selling point for LG, a feature that’s never been found in a Nexus device in the past.

This new device is rumored to be available in mid-November but its retailer is not yet decided.
