According to an invitation distributed by Samsung a couple of days ago, Samsung is gearing up to announce some kind Galaxy S-class smartphone on October 11th. The tag line reads as “Prepare for something small to make a big entrance,” and “how big small can be.” Based on these descriptions, it could be none other than the long rumored Samsung Galaxy S III Mini.
Yesterday, the folks over SamMobile website hunted around Samsung’s collection of UAProf files for its handsets noticed one for model GT-I8190 had recently been published. According to the UAProf document, a certain Samsung GT-I8190 handset really exists. With bits from the UAProf, we can almost positively conclude that we’re seeing the Galaxy S III Mini and the source also believes the same. The screen resolution is 480×800 WVGA pixels (Super AMOLED) and the browser is Android Browser, which confirm an Android phone. It will be powered by an ARM 11 processor and it’s camera can record video with a resolution of 640×480 pixels.
Samsung’s current flagship smartphone, Galaxy S III sports 4.8-inch Super HD AMOLED display, running on a quad-core processor, fuelled by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Other rumors suggested that Galaxy S III mini will ship with a 5-megapixel camera, dual-core processor, and it will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
