Microsoft has already sent out invitations for Windows Phone 8 launch event scheduled for October 29 in San Francisco, to be held at 10 AM PST. Although Windows Phone 8 is not expected to launch until October 29, now a new report claims that pre-orders for AT&T’s Windows Phone 8 devices may start on October 21.
Last month, the phone platform was shown off by Microsoft during two joint events, one with Nokia and another event was with HTC by showing their attractive apps and accessories of upcoming devices. AT&T also unveiled its two Nokia Lumia 920, 820 Windows Phone 8 devices on October 4 and announced that they will start selling the Windows Phone 8-powered devices in November.
It is now reported that the network carrier will start taking pre-orders on the HTC 8X, Nokia’s Lumia 920, Samsung’s Ativ Smart PC, and the Asus Vivo Tab RT. The Lumia 920 will be exclusive to AT&T, but The Lumia 820 will be available from other network carriers as well.
AT&T also plans to sell the HTC One X+, One VX and Windows Phone 8X . The Windows Phone 8X will be available soon but the One X+ and One VX would be available later “in the coming months.”
But a Microsoft spokesperson refused to comment on the pre-order date directly, stating that “Windows Phone 8 phones will be available to customers later this year.”
But there is no any report revealing pricing of the AT&T-based Windows devices.
