An alleged press shot of the new Nokia Lumia windows phone, codenamed “Atlas”, has surfaced online. Thanks to the Twitter courtesy of @evleaks. As you can see in the above picture, the Lumia Atlas has got Verizon branding on the bottom side of the phone.
We’ve been hearing rumors and leaks about the existence of the HTC Windows Phone 8X handset for Verizon for a while now. As the more evidences stack up, we’re becoming increasingly convinced that Lumia 920 is indeed coming to the Big red network. FCC has also recently approved the HTC 8X for Verizon.
Coming to the Nokia Lumia Atlas, the phone could be the Verizon variant of the Lumia 820, just like the newly launched Lumia 810, which is the T-Mobile variant of the Lumia 820. But, the rumored Lumia Atlas is boasting the same rounded corners as that of the yesteryear’s Nokia Lumia 710 handset.
Software wise, the Nokia Atlas runs the latest Windows Phone 8 OS, and will ship preinstalled with Nokia Music, Office apps and there is a camera residing on front side of the handset and comes with 4G LTE connectivity on-board. No information regarding hardware specs of the phone. Hopefully, we will hear about it officially from Verizon/Nokia in the coming days.
