Just a few moments after Google’s chief release engineer Jean-Baptiste Queru (JBQ) announced the release of the Android 4.1.2 build on Android Open Source Project (AOSP), Google has started rolling out the latest firmware update – Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean build for the ASUS-made Nexus 7 tablet. The new update bumps the software version of the Nexus 7 up to JZO54K.
What’s new in Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update:
# Performance and stability improvements
# Addition of landscape mode in the launcher, which is a much needed feature
# Enables landscape orientation to both the homescreen and lockscreen
# Some unknown bug fixes
# On Jelly Bean, failed to connect to WPA enterprise wireless is fixed in 4.1.2 (# please refer code 34212)
# Expanding and collapsing notification now require only one finger to operate (Previously required two fingers)
JBQ also mentioned that Nexus 7 will be getting a new power management chip, but there’s no word on any particular benefits it offers
Download
You should be seeing the notifications (as shown in the above picture) on your screens asking you to accept the update, which is 31.3MB in size and sports a JZO54K build number. You can also try to manually update your Nexus 7 tablet, by hopping over to Settings option and look for it.
If you haven’t gotten your update yet, you can flash the Android 4.1.2 on your Nexus 7 tablet. Go and grab it from Google servers or hit the below link:
