Samsung Unveils 4-inch GALAXY S III mini with Nature-Inspired Design and Android 4.1

After a couple of leaks and as we said earlier, Sammy has officially unveiled the new handset that runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, dubbed Galaxy S III mini handset. The model number of the handset is GT-I8190. This is a 4-inch handset for the people who don’t want to hold bigger 4.8-inch bests in their hands. Samsung Galaxy S III mini has got the same nature-inspired design from its big brothers Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II.

Spec-wise, however, the Galaxy S III mini is on the above average side that fits in a mid-range slot. It sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with WVGA resolution of 480-by-800 pixels, which is not bad by today’s standards, and a 5-megapixel camera on the back side that can record 720p HD videos. There’s 1GB of internal memory as well as options to choose 8GB or 16GB of internal storage, and it can be expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot. It will be powered by ST-Ericsson NovaThor chipset with two Cortex-A9 cores clocked at 1GHz and coupled with Mali-400 GPU. It comes with a 1,500mAh battery to power everything.

Galaxy S III mini has also got the preinstalled apps such as S Voice and Smart Stay, and there is a NFC chip inside, quad-band 2G and tri-band 3G connectivity with 14.4Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA, 802.11 Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and DLNA capability. Of course, users can also make video calls with the help of front-facing VGA camera.
