HTC has unveiled its new flagship phone with a 1080p display in Tokyo, Japan today. The HTC J Butterfly is set for release this December in Japan on AU / KDDI.
The showcase of the new HTC J Butterfly is its 5-inch full HD Super LCD 3 screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, which gives it a pixel density of 440ppi. That is amazing right! The Super LCD 2 seen in HTC’s previous flagship One X was one of the best in the market, but with the new Super LCD 3, it is now the best with no further question.
The HTC J butterfly is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It has 16GB internal memory along with a 32GB microSD card expansion slot. There is an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording on the back and a 2 megapixel camera in the front.
The phone is dust and waterproof (IPX5) and its size is 143 L x 9.1 H x 71 B mm. It weighs 140g but the battery is only 2,020mAh which is just above average for a phone like this. The phone will be available in Red, Black, and White colors.
The current model described is specific to Japan but the specs are most likely to stay as it is. No further info is available for pricing and availability in other regions as of now.
