Huawei Launches Honor 2 and 5-inch Ascend D2 Android Phones

A couple of days ago, Huawei has announced the new Honor 2 handset, powered by its very own K3V2 quad-core processor. Today, the manufacturer has finally joined the 5-inch Android phone line-up, along with the Samsung Galaxy Note II, HTC J Butterfly, LG Optimus Vu II, Oppo Find 5 and Pantech Vega R3 phones. The Chinese manufacturer showed off its new 5-inch Huawei Ascend D2 handset in China.

Huawei Ascend D2 will be carrying a 5-inch display with an unknown resolution, a quad-core 1.5GHz processor (likely its own K3V2). Other features are including a 13 megapixel camera on back side, a front facing 1.3 megapixel snapper on front side, microSD card support, a 3,000mAh battery and it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. So it will be upgradeable with the newly launched Android 4.2 version, which is a new flavor of Jelly Bean and it brings a set of new features such as Photo Sphere, new Clock app, Miracast wireless display support, Daydream, Gesture Typing, improved Google Now app and more.

On the other side, the Huawei Honor 2 sports a 4.5-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 720 resolution and 326 pixels per inch, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera , a 1.3-megapixel front camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, microSD support, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, as well as a 2,230mAh battery.

Huawei Honor 2 costs 1,888 yuan (which is about $300), while the Huawei Ascend D2 is set to hit the Chinese markets sometime in early 2013. Now word on precise launch date and the U.S.  availability yet.
