Late October, Google unveiled a new flavor of Jelly Bean, Android 4.2 Operating System with a number of improvements and it came installed on its flagship devices viz. Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. Now, it’s turn for a leading provider of telecommunications equipment and mobile devices, ZTE. They have announced that their smartphone ZTE N880E is running latest Android OS and they are the first Chinese mobile manufacturer to launch an Android 4.2 smartphone.
Mr.He Shiyou, Executive VP, ZTE stated during a press release “ZTE will introduce more models on Android 4.2 in the future, and will continue to make improvements to equipment performance and stability, ensuring that our handsets meet with the high expectations of today’s consumers.” ZTE also further have announced that their smartphone ZTE N880E was also one of the first handsets powered by Android 4.1 which was unveiled last year.
The ZTE N880E features a 4-inch high resolution 480 x 800 pixel screen, a 10.4mm ultra-thin metal appearance, is packed with a 1GHz Qualcomm 7627A processor, 512MB of RAM on board, 4GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 36GB using microSD slot with a 1650mAh battery. The device ran Android 4.1, but now after installing the new Jelly bean a number of additional features such as “Gesture Typing”, “Photo Sphere” which is a new 360 degree camera mode, lockscreen widgets, Google Now and more will be available.
