As you may already know that Google Nexus 4 made by South-Korean mobile manufacturer LG, is one of the Google’s flagship devices running the latest version of Android mobile operating system. Even though the smartphone is full of salient features, it is now reported that the smartphone doesn’t support USB On-The -Go (OTG) functionality.
We know that USB OTG is one of the features that allows USB devices such as digital audio players or mobile phones to act as a host, allowing other USB devices like a USB flash drive, mouse or keyboard to be attached to them. By using this functionality, you can read the contents, download music for instance and more. But several users on XDA-developers forum are confirming that this OTG functionality is not available on Google Nexus 4 smartphone. Some users are complaining that they tested on their Nexus 4 but didn’t work. Another user also claimed that normal USB Flash Drive (8GB) did not work and he/she didn’t find even a single blink on the flash drive. Again, another source confirmed that the Nexus 4 didn’t work with any USB device.
However, Google says that the device supports the USB OTG as mentioned on page 43 of the user guide.
Slightly similar to this case, recently it was rumored that Google Nexus 4 works on LTE though Google and LG announced that they had deliberately disabled LTE chip on their smartphone.
