A few days ago, Microsoft has rolled out the “Portico” update (build 8.0.10211.204) for the HTC Windows Phone 8X handsets and then it started hitting the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 handsets connected with AT&T and Rogers networks yesterday. Another wireless carrier has joined party today. On its official support forums, T-Mobile has confirmed that the new Windows Phone 8 update for its HTC 8X handset starts rolling out today. According to the reports, the update went live at 1PM ET. T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 810 users are missing all the fun.
In fact, the update was supposed to roll out yesterday, but it was delayed due to some last minute “tweaks”. The update is now finally seeding to users across the United States. The changelog is not that long, but the bump to the latest version of Windows Phone 8 OS – 8.0.10211.204 and it brings brings a set of bug fixes and always-on Wi-Fi connectivity. The list includes keep Wi-Fi alive under lockscreen, IE browser improvements, improved Bluetooth pairing, stability improvements, new Messaging features – SMS Drafts and reject-call with SMS, and preferred Wi-Fi Hotspot selection.
T-Mobile HTC 8X owners should be seeing a notification hitting their phones, but if not, be sure keep an eye out for notifications as these update rollouts usually take time. Of course, you can always check it out for yourself through Settings –> Phone Update. New firmware version will be 1532.20.20004.531.
