Today, South-Korean mobile manufacturer Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S2 Plus officially. As we expected earlier, the Galaxy S II Plus has a 4.3-inch with 800 x 480 pixels Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touch screen display. The device is packed with 1.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor. But it was rumored that instead of upgrading the device, the manufacturer appears to be downgrading the Galaxy S II Plus, from the 1.2GHz to 1GHz Dual-Core processor, even though the name “Plus” suggests that it may be an upgrade to the Galaxy S II, which is obviously false .
The Samsung Galaxy S II Plus and the Galaxy S II have similar features except for some like the microSD card is expandable up to 64GB. The new device is running Google’s mobile operating system, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean instead of Android 2.3. It also has NFC capability (optional) and comes with Samsung’s additional features such as S Voice, Popup Video, Smart Stay, Direct Call, Smart Alert and AllShare Play.
As the manufacturer has already announced the device, it is expected to be introduced at the ongoing International CES. On the other hand the much anticipated announcement of Samsung Galaxy S IV at the event isn’t on the cards.
Yet, Samsung has kept mum about the official price tag and availability of the Galaxy S II Plus. We’ll let you know once we have more info.
