At CES 2013 in Las Vegas, Analyst Brian White of Topeka Capital has stated that Apple is preparing to launch revisions to both the iPad 4 with a 9.7-inch Retina display, and the 7.9-inch iPad mini coming March.
The analyst further claimed that the upcoming iPad 5 is expected to be lighter and thinner than the iPad 4 but the form factor of the next iPad mini should be similar to the first generation iPad mini. The two tablets were unveiled by the manufacturer simultaneously and were available in the market on November 2, 2012.
But Brian White hasn’t mentioned whether the upcoming iPad 5 tablet and second-gen iPad mini will come with “Retina Display” or not. But earlier, it was rumored that Apple is planning to launch the 5th gen full-sized iPad tablet with retina display in first quarter of the next year. Another Apple’s purported 2nd gen iPad mini tablet will have a better resolution than the first gen-iPad mini and it will pack faster A6X processor under the hood to power the tablet. It was claimed to be available in March, 2013.
Earlier, due to the production of different products, iPad mini and the iPad 4 by the same manufacturer simultaneously, the iPad mini is cannibalizing sales for the iPad 4. But Analysts stated that the concerns were “Overblown.”
