Two 4-inch iPhone models debuting this year, larger screen model in the works

Apple is planning to introduce two 4-inch iphone models with a large screen iphone model

Recently we have reported that Apple could unveil three new iPhone models in this year. The first two models: the iPhone 5S and a 4.8-inch iPhone Math are expected to be launched in June, and the third iPhone model with 12 MP camera is reported to be arriving during the December holiday season.

Now according to Digitimes, the two models that Apple is reportedly planning, will be featuring 4-inch screens with in-cell touch technology, a variation from the previous reports. These 4-inch models will be unveiled this year. Another model with a larger screen is also in the works but launch will be at least a year away. Besides this iPhone models, at CES 2013 in Las Vegas, Analyst Brian White of Topeka Capital stated that Apple is planning to show off revisions to both the iPad 4 and the iPad mini as well in March.

But it is questionable whether Apple can ship their lower-cost version of iPhone model in 2013 or not, due to mass production issues in supplying in-cell touch panels from the technology in 2012.

In the first quarter of this year, out of 37 million units of Apple products, 20 million units of shipment products are expected to be iPhone 5. In second quarter, the shipments of iPhone 5 may drop to approximately 18 million units.
