According to the latest reports, the rumored low-cost iPhone will have a design with a mixture of the iPhone 5, iPod touch and iPod classic devices. Previous rumors said that low-end spec’d iPhone is in works now, with a cheaper construction in a polycarbonate body. Now, the folks over iLounge have presented a detailed described the low-cost iPhone’s hardware parts.
According to some reliable source, this low-cost iPhone will be made out of plastic, carrying the similar look to an iPhone 5 with iPod Classic resembling curves, and it is said to be half a millimeter taller and wider than the iPhone 5. The source also says it will feature a 4-inch Retina display with 1136×640 pixels of resolution and Gorilla Glass protection, and there will be back camera with flash, as well as a front-facing shooter. It will also have a Lightning port. Apple has included the Lightning ports for both the current-gen iPhone 5 and iPod touch devices. In simple plain words, it’ll have the bottom edge of the fifth-generation of iPod touch, the iPhone 5′s front, and the overall form of the iPod classic.
As you can see in the above image, it is expected to feature a total of four speaker holes, and a second microphone hole next to the headset jack port. The low-end spec’d budget iPhone is rumored to be hitting the stores later this year.
On the other side, some sources are suggesting that iPhone 5S will be releasing this year and will look fairly similar to the iPhone 5, but will pack a larger flash. Yesterday, we reported about the 128GB iPad models with ULTIMATE classification in both Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+Cellular connectivity. We’ve also came across a leaked back plate of the iPad 5 tablet.
