Sony India has posted a photo on Facebook page stating that “Everything is about to change, 06/03/2013”. In the photo listed on the website, there is a picture of a phone in the backdrop, which seems the Sony Xperia Z.
The manufacturer has also posted a microsite on their Indian site complete with a countdown timer. Hence the speculations that Sony will announce their latest flagship, Xperia Z on the specified date and will reveal the cost in Indian markets.
Few weeks ago, we already reported that the Sony Xperia Z smartphone will be available in South East Asia including Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore in the first quarter of this year. Well it is now true. In Indonesia, online retailer Blibli has started taking pre-order for the device at 7 million rupiah ($725) . The retailer has revealed that the Sony Xperia Z will be available on March 16.
Sony Xperia Z is packed with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 pro quad-core processor, a rear-facing 13MP camera with Exmor RS for mobile and video HDR mode, 2GB of RAM, a 2300mAh battery, and NFC. The device comes with a high-level of dust (IP5X) and water resistance (IPX5/7), running Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS out of the box.
Sony Australia already started taking pre-order for the unlocked Sony Xperia Z smartphone for $749 but it still keeps silent when the device will be shipped.
The Sony Xperia Z is expected to be available in three color options: Black, White and Purple.
