A couple of months ago, Asus announced its latest ROG series of gaming phones. Both Asus Rog 6 and the Asus ROG 6 Pro beasts are now available for pre-order in the US from today at Amazon. Asus ROG Phone 6 lineup is the perfect smartphone for hardcore gaming enthusiasts, coming with over-the-top hardware specs and a rugged design.
Asus ROG Phone 6 lineup carries a Gorilla Glass Victus protecting 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 165Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch-sampling rate, and 1200nits of peak brightness. There is Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 12GB or more of RAM up to 16GB under the hood. The Pro model will go up to 18GB of RAM paired with 256 or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
It also boasts a 5-magnet front-facing stereo speaker setup, 3.5 mm audio jack that supports Hi-Res audio playback, dual-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC for connectivity, a bigger 6,000mAh battery with 65W charging speed, which takes a claimed 42 minutes to top up the cell to 100%.
Both phones ship with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with 13MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro camera on the rear side. There’s a 12MP shooter that does duty at the front. These phones can record 8K videos at 24fps and 4K at 60fps with HDR10+ support. You also get dual-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, IPX4 splash resistance, several configurable RGB lights on the back, and NFC for connectivity.
There is a small 2-inch OLED secondary screen on the back side to show the incoming call notifications, charging status and other animations.
