Honor is aiming to secure a leading share in the smartphone market in its home land China. Honor states that the cumulative number of users of the Honor X series smartphones has now exceeded 100 million. The manufacturer has launched the brand new next-generation X-series handset in China: Honor X40 5G. The handset is now available for pre-order in China with affordable price tags starting at CNY 1,499 ($214 approx.).
A few days ago, Honor has teased this X40 5G phone in a teaser video. They came up with a slogan which describes “New Leap Level Benchmark,” hinting at powerful specifications for the upcoming devices. The Hoor X40 5G packs a 120Hz curved display, a powerful processor, a two camera setup in a big circle on the rear side carved with “MATRIX AI VISION CAMERA” text. Here is the list of specifications:

The Honor X40 5G buyers can choose among Colourful Cloud, Mo Yuqing, and Magic Night Black colours. Honor begins selling the device with prices starting at 1,499 yuan ($215) for the 6GB + 128GB model, 1,699 yuan (~$243) for the 8GB + 128GB and 1,999 yuan (~$286) for 8GB+256GB version, while the 12GB + 256GB option will retail at 2,299 yuan (~$328).
Honor is currently taking pre-orders for the X40 5G in China and the open sale begins from September 23rd. There is no word about global launch of the device yet.
