Along with the Honor X40 5G smartphone launch, the Chinese manufacturer also announced the new Honor Pad X8 tablet at its event. Honor is already taking pre-orders of this tablet on its website starting at 1199 yuan (~$171). A smaller version of this tablet, Pad X8 Lite is also expected to be launched at the event, but it didn’t happen although it has been listed on Honor’s global website yesterday.
Packed in 7.5mmm aluminum body, the Honor Pad X8 comes with a 10.1-inch 19020×1200 pixel Full HD IPS display with 224 PPI, powered by MediaTek HelioG80 12nm octa core processor (dual 2GHz A75 + hexa 1.8Ghz 6x A55 CPUs). The devices is also equipped with 4GB/6GB RAM with single storage 128GB option which is expandable up to 512GB using microSD card slot support. In camera department, you will get 5 megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture coupled with 2 megapixel front facing camera for video calling support.
Honor Pad X8 runs on the older Android 10 OS wit Magic UI 4.0 on top. Except some minor bug fixing updates or performance improvements, do not expect huge OS updates from the manufacturer in the future. There is a 5,100mAh battery under the hood and connectivity wise, it sports Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and it can be charged using USB-C port.

The Honor Pad X8 also has 1620 dual large-amplitude speakers, with a 2.2cc large sound cavity, and supports HONOR Histen sound effects. Cellular versions of the tablet haven’t been announced at the event. So it is safe to assume that there is Wi-Fi only version of this tablet
The Honor Pad X8 is now available for pre-order in Dawn blue and Mint green colours, priced at 1199 yuan (~$171/~₹13,685) for the 4GB+128GB version and the 6GB+128GB retails at 1299 yuan (~$185/~₹14,825). It’s unclear at this moment whether if Honor has planned to launch this tablet in international markets or not, while the open sale will begin from September 22nd in China.
