Google has launched a downgraded version of the Chromecast with Google TV to give you more affordable way to enter the Google TV ecosystem with solid smart UI and offered at the rock-bottom price of just a few bucks.
The Chromecast with Google TV (HD) is now official and retails for just $29.99. Apart from price point, lower resolution, the new 1080p Chromecast basically do that the existing 4K version does, but it streams the video content in 1080p HDR. Do not expect any significant upgrades. It has the same form factor with the same USB-C port and the same little remote, And yeah, that cute remote has dedicated buttons for Google Assistant and Netflix, YouTube apps. You can also stream other popular streaming apps such as HBO, Disney+ and all of the best streaming services in a single place.
The new Chromecast with Google TV (HD) unit is now available in Snow (white) to buy right now.
