Motorola XOOM up for Pre-order at Handtec; Wi-Fi Only Motorola XOOM to arrive in April

WiFi Only Motorola XOOM Honeycomb Tablet

Motorola XOOM powered by Honeycomb tablet pc has been recently announced at CES 2011. According to Motorola’s Latin America GM Maurizio Angelone, it is going to launching Wi-Fi only version(does indeed exist) of its honeycomb tablet Motorola XOOM in the month of April, this year, a moth before in March, the 3G version will come out and around the same time period that the 4G version would ship on Verizon’s network. It wasn’t specified if the dates were for Argentina only or if it applies across the board, but at least we know a Wi-Fi-only version is arriving this April. Verizon has promised the 3G XOOM sometime in Q1 2011 and we are in Q1 right now.

DigiTimes is stating that Motorola is expecting to ship between 700 000 and 800 000 units of its dual-core in Q1 of this year and the tablet is set to come in four different colors.

One of the UK retailers Handtec has already started offering XOOM tablet for pre-order at £660. But its price has already raised from £660 to £720 at present.

Motorola XOOM comes with 10.1 inch HD display running with Android 2.3 Honeycomb on Dual-core 1GHz processor, 5MP camera with 720p captures and 2MP additional camera video chats over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G LTE, 1080p HD Video Content Support, W-Fi, 3G, while 4G connectivity will be made available as an update in Q2 following a Q1 launch. Wi-Fi only Samsung Galaxy Tab also set for launching soon.
