Samsung always rolled out monthly updates for its devices ahead of Google. These monthly updates include security patches and bug fixes. Google is yet to release October security patches for its Pixel handsets. But Samsung has already started seeding the new firmware update for current-generation Galaxy series, which bump up the Android security patch level on Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra phones to October 2022.
The update was first made available for carrier-locked and unlocked Galaxy S22 variants in the US. Now the latest security patch has also made its way to the global Galaxy S22 models in Asia and Europe. According to SamMobile, Galaxy S22 series owners in Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam are receiving this latest firmware and updated to build number S908EXXS2AVI7, while the Europe variants getting latest security patch with firmware version S90xBXXS2AVI7. In another news, Samsung Galaxy S21 series also getting the October 2022 patch in the US and Germany.
Samsung does not include a changelog unfortunately, so there’s little firm way of knowing if there have been other small bug fixes or improvements. If you’ve updated to these new builds, do let us know your impressions in the comments below.

Samsung has determined to bring the latest One UI 5 based Android 13 builds. The manufacturer also announced the list of Galaxy handsets that are going to receive the latest Android 13 build by the end of this year. The list includes Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4, while the mid-rangers Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A52 also getting ready to join the fun.
