The new budget-friendly Android phone from Honor debuted a few days ago in China. Today, the new Honor Play 6C goes for sale in the Chinese market. Interested users can now pick the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB model for 1,099 (approx. $153). The 8 GB RAM and 128 GB model goes for 1,299 yuan (~$181), but Honor China website is showing this model as out of stock at the moment.
Specs wise, the Honor Play 6C comes with a 6.5-inch LCD HD (720x1600px) screen with 20:9 ratio, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and also packed the German Rheinland low blue light eye protection certification. Inside, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 480+ 8 nm octa-core processor (2*A76*2.2GHz+6*A55*1.9GHz), combined with Qualcomm Adreno 619 GPU to handle graphics, 6 GB/8 GB RAM with 128 GB internal storage with microSD card slot support for storage expansion, and it boots Android 12 OS with MagicUI 5.0 on top. Honor promised that this device will receive Android OS updates for three years.
For photography, it comes packed with a 13MP rear camera along with a 2MP depth sensor on the back side. There is a 5MP selfie camera on the front side, along with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric security and packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 22.5W charging. For connectivity, it has got 5G SA / NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS, and USB Type-C. It features a smart dual card function and can enable two 5G SIM cards on standby simultaneously.
The device comes in blue, black, and silver color options. There is no word on availability of the Honor Play 6C outside China from the manufacturer.
