Samsung Galaxy S23 series may launch on February 1

A couple of days ago, we learned that Samsung is set to hold its Unpacked event sometime in next February, with no information on the actual date, where we are expecting to hear about the Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and the high-end Galaxy S23 Ultra. While Apple likes to launch its new iPhones, and Google has been gracing its October events for Pixel phones release every year, the South Korea tech giant, Samsung loves to launch its flagship phones in first quarter of every year, especially in January or February.

The latest information apparently comes from a couple of popular tipsters, who have confirmed the exact launch date of the upcoming Galaxy S23 series. Both @Ice Universe and @OnLeaks have agreed that Samsung’s next Galaxy S23 series unpacked event will take place on February 1, 2023. If this information becomes true, February 1 could be the launch date for the US versions, and other parts of the world will apparently start selling the new Galaxy S23 phones on February 2. We also expect Samsung to issue the official invites for the event in the next coming weeks.

All the earlier leaks suggesting the Galaxy S23 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra spotted today on BIS, NVTC certifying websites, while the vanilla version spotted on Geekbenching platform. Both the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones will support 25W charging, while packing a 3900mAh battery, and a larger 4700mAh battery respectively.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra would be the first Samsung device to get a massive 200MP camera on the board, while the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ versions will have a 12MP front-facing camera, a 50MP main camera on the rear accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. Word on the street is that the Europe version of the Galaxy S23 will be packing an “exclusive high-frequency version” of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset under the hood.

We’ll likely hear more about the Galaxy S23 series exact launch date and pricing in the coming weeks.
