Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 12 series at a big event held in India today. With this launch, the Note 12 series made its international debut outside of China. The Chinese tech giant has already unveiled this series in China in late October, and they claim they were able to sell out 350,000 units in the first flash sale. The Redmi Note 12 series also consists of a couple of biggies – Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+, which were also announced by Xiaomi for the Indian markets at the same event.
The standard Redmi Note 12 is the most affordable variant in the series. Xiaomi claims this is the thinnest Note, measuring at 7.98mm. Specs wise, it comes packed with a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, 1200 nits of peak brightness, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Inside, it is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset which is paired with 4GB / 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB UFS 2.2 internal storage, which is expandable up to 1TB with microSD support.
For photography, it has a triple camera setup on the back, consisting of a 48MP rear camera with PDAF, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. Around the front, there is a 13 megapixel shooter inside the punch-hole for selfies and video calls. The entire device is backed up by a 5000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the power button of the device.
