While Samsung continues to successfully upgrade its portfolio with the latest operating system, more and more devices are receiving the bump to Android 13 based One UI 5.0. Most of the manufacturers don’t roll out the OS updates very quickly for their devices. That always come elegantly late.
Samsung is now doing great for its users. The Galaxy S20 series has already been upgraded to Android 13 based One UI 5.0 build, which was supposed to be the last big software update for it. However, a new upgrade is on the way for the Galaxy S20 series of phones.
According to SamMobile, the Korean manufacturer is currently testing the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra phones. After a little digging on Samsung servers, it has been confirmed that the next software update being tested has firmware version G980FXXUFHWA1. The tenth letter in the firmware version, H, is implying that software is a major one. Galaxy S20 series phones currently running Android 13-based One UI 5.0 have the letter G in their firmware version’s tenth position (G980FXXUFGWA5).
Samsung hasn’t revealed anything about One UI 5.1, so we’re not sure exactly what we can expect from the next update. Based on the One UI 5.0 beta update, we can guess the One UI 5.1 will bring some new lock screen customizations, and other UI customizing features. It is worth mentioning that Galaxy S23 series will be launched with One UI 5.1 rather than One UI 5.0.
