It looks like Sammy is making an LTE device for the popular pre-paid wireless carrier MetroPCS. Recently the folks over Samsung Hub has got an image of it and the sources claiming that it is named as Samsung Forte. It is an Android powered smartphone for MetroPCS with support on its 4G LTE network. Samsung Forte is claiming to have a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, TouchWiz UI and the phone is expected to run on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system(why not Android 2.3 Gingerbread) and a micro-SD card slot for memory storage. Samsung Forte is having a full horizontal-sliding QWETY keyboard. So all these specs are suggesting that this handset might be a Galaxy S family device. The Samsung Forte is expected to launch on February 11th.
The handset bears a slight resemblance to to the Samsung SCH R910, which is being rumoured as another LTE-enabled device for MetroPCS. But it’s still not clear whether this is the same device as the SCH-R910. So it may or may not be confirmed that Samsung is working on two different handsets(perchance one with QWERTY keyboard, one with out) and both powered by Android OS. More info as we get. Check out another two images of Samsung Forte after the break.
