We are just one week away from learning all we can know about the upcoming Galaxy S23 phones from Samsung itself. While Samsung teased its new smartphone series a lot over the past few months highlighting new camera sensors, we also had the chance to get a full overview of the hardware inside the Galaxy S23 trio smartphones, thanks to full specifications leak. A new piece of information revealed a while ago, confirming key information about the display of these three handsets.
A prolific tipster, going by Roland Quandt over Twitter, it has been confirmed Samsung is trying to reduce the gap between the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. He confirms the vanilla Galaxy S23 model will have an OLED screen with 1,750 nits peak brightness, which is similar to the Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. To recall, the previous-gen vanilla Galaxy S22’s brightness is limited to 1300 nits, while both the Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra were made offering up to 1750 nits peak brightness. That means Samsung didn’t improve hasn’t improved the peak display brightness of the Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra compared to their predecessors.
While the Galaxy S23 series will be the first Galaxy S family of phones to provide the same peak brightness, the only differences between the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+ are display size, battery capacity, and charging speeds. Both phones are carrying the same design language, screen resolution and brightness, processor, RAM, wireless charging speeds, and camera resolutions. The vanilla Galaxy S23 will be offered with a smaller screen, smaller battery, slower charging speed, and also lacking UWB.
The top-of-the-line Galaxy S23 Ultra will have 6.8-inch AMOLED Qhad HD+ display (3088 x 1400px) 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 500ppi, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It can record videos delivering 8K 30fps, 4K 60fps, FHD 60fps quality. On the other side, both the Galaxy S23 and S23+ will come with Full HD+ display (2340 x 1080px). An improved 12MP camera is present on all the models, which is capable of capturing 4K 60fps HDR videos, and it is reportedly carrying a new mysterious ISOCELL sensor.
