HTC Chacha – Facebook phone officialised at MWC 2011; Heading to AT&T

HTC Facebook phones are real. We’ve already reported that HTC was prepping two Facebook-centric phones – HTC Chacha and HTC Salsa. Proving those speculations, HTC has announced the first QWERTY keyboard equipped phone with dedicated Facebook button addition, HTC Chacha at Mobile World Congress show 2011 on yesterday

The Facebook centric handset will come with Android 2.3.3 skinned with HTC Sense. Specs wise, HTC Chacha is having a full-QWERTY keyboard with a 2.6-inch TFT display and a 1,250mAh battery, Qualcomm MSM7227 processor clocked at 600MHz, 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, a dedicated Facebook button, and Android 2.3.3 OS.

The Facebook button on HTC Chacha is context-aware with a light that beats each time you’re doing something on the phone, to share content or updates through Facebook. With a single press of the button, you can update your status, upload a photo, share a Website, post what song you are listening to, ‘check in’ to a location and more.

Price & Availability

AT&T has reportedly confirmed that it will carry two Facebook phones from HTC.  HTC Chacha will be available in Q2 of 2011 in Europe and Asia. Price confirmations haven’t confirmed yet officially.
