We’ve been wondering about why Sony hasn’t entered tablet foray. But here we have some exciting and unconfirmed news. According to some well sourced information, Sony might be working on two different tablets set for release later this year. We have already hearing the rumours about the PlayStation certified S1 tablet.
Now, the fresh rumours are suggesting that the two new slates are supposedly in the works – dual-screen Honeycomb clamshell and VAIO-branded Windows 7 tablet slider. Both these tablets are set to be planned for launch before the holiday season of the 2011.
The VAIO-branded Windows 7 tablet will be sporting a full sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 9.4-inch display, an Intel Atom processor. This particular tablet is expected to cost $799 or more. The other tablet codenamed, S2 is expected to arrive with modified version of Android Honeycomb OS, sporting two 5.5 inch displays, specially designed Honeycomb OS will take care of the dual screens. The Android tablet has equipped with Tegra 2 chipset, integrated 3G, Wi-Fi connectivity. No word on other specifications. S2 might come with a price tag of $699.
