Nikon has launched another P-series compact camera, Nikon Coolpix P300. It is the first camera to feature NIKKOR glass lens that starts at a wide 24mm and extends to 100mm (35mm equivalent) using its 4.2x optical zoom with a fast wide-angle f/1.8 aperture, equipped with 12.2 megapixels backside illumination CMOS sensor, measuring 1/2.3 in size, has a Nikon’s own EXPEED C2 Image processing engine and it offers a Full 1080p HD video (1920 X 1080 pixels) and it offers High ISO Sensitivity. The built-in VR function reduces blur with hand-held shooting and shooting at high sensitivities.
Nikon Coolpix P300 is sporting a 3 inches high-resolution LCD screen with 921,000 dots, coated with anti-reflection technology. Nikon Coolpix P300 can take up to seven shots in one go at 8fps and there’s even a slow-motion 120fps movie mode at VGA resolution. With the P300, users can record high quality Full HD 1080p movies at 30 frames-per-second (fps) with autofocus, stereo sound and the ability to use the optical zoom. It can also shoot in slow or fast motion using recording speeds of up to 120fps (VGA). The ISO range is 80 to 3200, and support SDXC memory cards. It enables Aperture Priority (A), Shutter Priority (S) and Full Manual (M) Control, Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) technology, featuring new Easy Panorama mode, to simply create vertical or horizontal panoramic shots automatically in-camera.
Nikon Coolpix P300 also featuring several improved scene modes including Advanced Night Portrait mode, Night Landscape mode, and Backlight high dynamic range (HDR) mode. In Backlight HDR mode, the P300 combines multiple shots at different exposures while Night Landscape mode combines multiple shots taken with a faster shutter speed for reduced noise and improved tonal range throughout the photo. P300 also includes Special Effects mode and a Creative Slider mode. Coolpix P300 has a 240-still shot capacity and comes with an EN-EL12 Li-ion rechargeable battery and it won’t offer RAW image capture capability.
