Earlier we reported about the pre-order availability by the Alltel Wireless for the HTC Merge smartphone. HTC Merge is a world phone with dual-mode CDMA/GSM functionality and it is scheduled to release on multiple carriers in the U.S.
Another carrier, Cellular South also announced that it will launch the HTC Merge handset in next month, April. HTC Merge will be the world’s first smartphone to come pre-loaded with the new “Amazon Appstore for Android“. It is remain unknown to us whether the Alltel branded HTC Merge will have the Amazon Appstore feature or not.
QWERTY-slider HTC Merge comes with Android Froyo on top of HTC Sense, sporting a a 3.8-inch touch screen with 480 x 800 pixels resolution, 800MHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, HTC Sense, GPS, and Wi-Fi connectivity, DLNA capability, Stereo FM radio with RDS, micro-SD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB and much more.
