We first reported that Verizon is set to roll out a system software update v1.13.605.7 for the very first 4G LTE capable HTC Thunderbolt handset and now Verizon Wireless has announced it will push the OTA update starting from today, May 3rd.
As mentioned previously, the update will be getting some brand new radio firmware for the beleaguered HTC Thunderbolt and packing with the bunch of bug fixes, improvements, and the enhancements for connectivity to Big Rad’s 3G network when 4G LTE is unavailable and the update will also fix some email and SMS bugs so that messages are stored properly in your inbox, and the Backup Assistant application will display properly in the applications menu.
The update will also properly display “Backup Assistant” in the app menu, data-centric applications such as Facebook, KAYAK and Yahoo! Mail will have undergone stability improvements, along with the other fixes include faster loading of GPS updates and stability improvements for Facebook, KAYAK, Yahoo! Mail, My Verizon, and others.
To install Over-the-Air update, HTC Thunderbolt users need to select “Menu” > “Settings” > “About Phone” > “Settings” > “System Updates” > and tap the “Check New” button –> Tap Press & Install –> Installation should start now.
