HTC is trying to master updating its devices to Android 2.3 Gingerbread one by one. HTC has already rolled out the official Gingerbread update for HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S handsets. We’ve also seen an official Gingerbread ROM leaked for HTC Desire. It looks like the carrier variants are not left out at all. Few days back, T-Mobile and HTC has officially announced that the U.S. carrier variant of Desire Z, the T-Mobile G2’s Gingerbread update is coming very soon.
Now the folks over 911sniper have released the official Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROM for T-Mobile G2 handset. The file name of the leaked ROM is: PC10IMG_Vision_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.13.531.8_Radio_12.52.60.25_26.08.04.30_M3_release_ 188635_signed.
From the above file name, we can see that this is a new version 2.13.531.8, which is not matching with the previous leak 2.13.531.5. This clue is suggesting that it is the final ROM for G2 owners.
Back in December, Android 2.3 was announced officially, and it wasn’t even that long ago before the Nexus One got the Gingerbread update.
