Google has released an updated and a re-designed Google Search App for iOS. The update Version 0.8.2.6553 is meant for a faster experience to the users of the app. Responsiveness and interactivity are major factor of the re-design, Google noted.
Google claims that the new version of the App is up to 20% more responsive and interactive. In order to increase speed, the “Just Talk” feature has been put off by default in the new version. Just Talk is a feature which allows you to search via voice. If you want you can enable it under the Settings > Voice Search menu.
As to increase the easier use, as the app is meant for small screens, Google has made the search results font bigger and the entire search result will now be a link target rather than just the heading link.
But in spite of the redesign and efforts Google has put in to make the app faster and easier to use, we have already started to get comments from users that when compared to the Microsoft Bing iOS App User Interface, Google is still behind.
Google Search app is available for devices running iOS 3.0 and above. You can download it from the App Store.
