Huawei, the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer which was recently listed as one of the OEMs for Windows Phone 7 at the Microsoft’s WP7 Mango launch event wouldn’t want to concentrate just on Windows Phones, as the company is hell-bent on bringing a high-end smartphone by this year. According to a technology portal V3 based in the UK, which has interviewed Victor Xu, chief strategy manager and market officer at Huawei about the company’s future plans and investments in the smartphone industry, revealed some interesting information for the Android lovers.
According to the report, Huawei Vision will be a high-end Android smartphone with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display (probably a 3D display) device running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread (upgradeable to Android 2.4 Icecream Sandwich). It will also come with a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recoding capability and will be powered by a 1GHz processor. The phone will not feature NFC, but Huawei will push for the inclusion of NFC in its future releases.
The company also intends to manufacture a cloud based device which doesn’t need advanced components other than a CPU and hence will be a cheaper one.
Huawei Vision will be releases in the UK during the second half of 2011. The device will be priced anywhere between £250 and £400 (around $360 to $575).
