Samsung’ Wave, a flagship phone for Samsung’s own bada OS would soon be getting a new successor, at least the latest rumors about an upcoming Samsung mobile phone codename suggest that. According to a tweet from Amsterdam based @SamFirmware, a new Samsung mobile phone with codename GT-S9500 will soon be coming soon. They believe in all possibilities, this could very well be the Samsung Wave 3 (Wave III). According to them, logic behind this is the regular pattern in Samsung’s codenaming. Apparently Samsung Wave was codenamed GT-S8500 running on Bada OS. The successor to the Wave, was codenamed Samsung Wave II GT-S8530 which was released with minor improvements like a bigger screen and minor OS upgrade compared to the initial Wave. However Wave 2 didn’t find much success like the earlier model.
And this time Samsung Wave 3 would most probably going to be a major release unlike Wave 2. With Bada 2.0 OS release around the corner (rumored to be in this July), Wave 3 could be coming with the latest version of bada OS on it and perhaps might feature dual-core CPU, at least an 8MP camera, 4G connectivity et al. that are featuring in most of the present day smartphones. We’ll have to wait till July to get to know more about the upcoming device.
